Wining and dining is a memorable part of the Murrindindi experience, with many restaurants and cafes featuring the best of local food and wines. Premium regional wines that are on offer at renowned vineyards and wineries dotted across the valleys.

Local Produce

The southern part of our region is abound with fresh pick-your-own berry farms that also sell berry ice cream, jams, sauces and wine. We have an abundance of honey often beautifully presented in handmade pots and jars. Olives are making an impact with growers investing heavily throughout the region. There is a local growers association who co-operatively produce a range of olive products called "Oi" that can be purchased in many of our produce stores, cafes and wineries.

If the thought of a big trout on your dinner plate sounds too good to be true then the Buxton & Eildon trout farms are worth a visit. You can purchase whole trout & salmon filets or catch your very own.

Murrindindi is sure to tantalize your taste buds and entertain you in a fresh scenic environment.

Vineyards and Wineries

Murrindindi is expanding into a successful viticulture region. The cool climate and rich, fertile soils make it an ideal location for growing premium fruit. Many of our growers and makers are now becoming well recognised for their quality and expertise and are being rewarded with many national and Victorian awards. We have a number of cellar doors found in Yea, Caveat, Alexandra, Toolangi and Eildon. The Yea Historic cellars in Yea stock wine from all over Murrindindi.

Dining

Dining has become one of the main delights of a visit to Murrindindi. Whether you prefer fine dining, bistro, alfresco or a light luncheon of gourmet treats, Murrindindi can cater to all tastes and lifestyles. Fine dining can be experienced in classical grandeur, heritage listed venues or restaurants with loads of charms, all with excellent chefs offering a tantalizing variety of fresh and local produce, wines and coffees.

The Murrindindi region is only a short drive from Melbourne, excellent for day trippers with the added experience of being able to come and return home to the city via a different route. Lunch can then become part of the whole days experience with all towns in the region having excellent cafes with menus offering light meals in beautiful settings. There is an excellent variety of Restaurants offering a range of exciting foods and wines. Yea would definitely be the food capital of Murrindindi with at least 6 outstanding restaurants and cafés that are all beautifully decorated and menus to match any major city.
